Go Panthers!

World Wide Walls (formerly Pow! Wow!) is one of those coveted mural festivals curated by Jasper Wong and Amy Wong. They gather muralists from around to paint for underserved communities. The chain reaction of the massive public art pieces shift the perception of the neighborhoods from ghetto and grungy to the place with street art. The 2024 Hawaii Walls Festival was no different from festivals in the past. It took place at several schools in Kalihi. Painting for several days straight alongside friends, you develop a sense of family with the other muralists and community members.

This particular festival I chose to hone my love for cats and blend that with Puuhale Elementary School's color and mascot, the panther. It helps to support the ideals of school pride for the kids.

When renowned muralists come to Hawaii from different parts of the world, I took that opportunity to connect learn new tricks and techniques. I sped through this one so I could assist others and learn from them.
